How H.E.A.R.T. helps

We conduct free community workshops in senior homes or public places. For specific needs, each visit is one-on-one and focused on everyday technology needs. The goal is not just fixing a device, but helping seniors feel comfortable using it again.

Device setup

  • Set up a new phone or tablet.
  • Connect to Wi‑Fi and email.
  • Install or organize important apps.

Daily tech learning

  • Texting, photos, and video calls.
  • Maps, messages, email, and reminders.
  • Simple AI tools for daily questions.

Friendly support

  • Patient step-by-step teaching.
  • Written notes for later practice.
  • Warm conversation and companionship.
H.E.A.R.T. began with one simple moment: helping a grandfather with apps on his phone and realizing many seniors could use the same kind of patient support.

This program is built around community care. Seniors get practical help and friendly interaction, while young people learn empathy, patience, and respect for the wisdom of senior generations.

Safeguarding a Grandfather's Photos & Storage

When my grandfather's smartphone displayed persistent "Storage Full" warnings, taking new pictures of his grandchildren and answering calls became a source of daily worry. He hesitated to delete anything for fear of losing precious family memories.

How We Helped: We sat together and carefully preserved years of family photos into a secure backup, safely cleared hidden clutter, and wrote down clear, large-print steps. His phone now works seamlessly, with every memory safely protected.

🛡️

Restoring Peace of Mind After a Phone Scam

After receiving a sudden, deceptive pop-up and an alarming phone call, my grandmother felt pressured and understandably shaken. Fraudulent callers had attempted to gain remote access to her personal accounts.

How We Helped: We immediately secured her device, reset and fortified account protections, and coordinated with banking services to safeguard her funds. Together, we reviewed simple ways to recognize spoofed numbers, restoring her confidence and sense of security.

Supporting a Distinguished Professor

A distinguished local professor reached out to us during a couple of different busy moments. First, when his wireless printer abruptly stopped connecting ahead of an important deadline, and on a separate occasion, when he wanted guidance setting up and navigating a food delivery app to order pizza.

How We Helped: During the first visit, we restored his printer's network connection and placed a simple one-click shortcut on his desktop. In a later visit, we walked him step-by-step through the delivery app, saved his favorite local pizzeria, and made ordering a fresh dinner effortless.
